About us

We are a congregation of people who believe that God exists and that He is the creator of all that is. (1-3) We also believe that out of His great love for us, He gave us his Word (the Bible) to make Himself known to us (4, 5) and that He gave his Son (Jesus) to be an atoning sacrifice for our sins. (6, 7)

A person, who has died to his old way of life and is born again of “water and the Spirit” (8-11) is a new creation in Christ (12) and begins to live a new life of discipleship (13) because of his love and gratitude for God. (14) Someone who is living as a disciple of Jesus devotes himself to “the apostles’ teaching, the fellowship, the breaking of bread and prayer.” (15) He is always striving to understand what it means practically to love God with all his heart and to love other Christians as Jesus loved his disciples. (16, 17) The result of such devotion is a devoted, dedicated, determined family of believers who are empowered by the Holy Spirit to reach out in word and deed with God’s love to their family, friends, neighbors and even strangers. (18)

We would be the first to admit that we have not “already obtained all this, or have already been made perfect”, but we are committed to following the admonition and example of the apostle Paul when he wrote, “but I press on to take hold of that for which Christ Jesus took hold of me. Forgetting what is behind and straining toward what is ahead, I press on toward the goal to win the prize for which God has called me heavenward in Christ Jesus.” (19)

Hearing and then responding to the gospel has totally changed our lives in very real, practical and daily ways and has impacted our characters, our relationships, our desires and our focus. We love to share with others about what God has done (and is doing) for us through his Son, his word and his church. (20)
